The God project
I must confess, I didn't think this would happen.
I didn't have plans to add to this magazine/blog outside of the articles that would fit nicely into a printed magazine. But then, how can you write about videogame culture without having ideas about the kind of game you'd really like to see created.
For some, that might just be the most amazing Formula 1 racer. Or the Star Wars and Star Trek universes turned into some giant, World of Warcraft style MMORPG. Others again might just be looking for that next-gen fighter or over-the-top FPS.
What I'm looking for is a game that will mean something; a game that will turn my life upside down and make me question who I am and what I'm doing on this big Katamari ball we call Earth.
I'm looking for a game that will save souls. Mostly, my own.
And so begins The God Project (working title).
These will be my thoughts, my ideas, my story plot lines and theories on game play mechanics for a game that will exist as an ideal; as a 100 million dollar dream.
I hope, in among the articles that appear here for issue two and beyond, you enjoy the journey.
